Self-locking nuts (also called lock nuts) are fasteners designed to resist loosening under vibration, shock, or movement without needing extra hardware like washers or thread adhesive.
They create resistance (friction or deformation) on the bolt threads so the nut doesn’t easily rotate backward once tightened.
